Suren Swaminathan is a veteran insurance professional with his own insurance consultancy company, Suren Agency LLC. Being A qualified past hotelier and marketing professional has helped him guide budding entrepreneurs. As a strong believer of diversity and inclusion, he initiated the SLBC Ladies Wing among other initiatives during previous tenure as Chairman of SLBC. He received the prestigious Global Sri Lankan of the Year award in 2022 by the Women in Management (WIM) Top 50 Global Awards in Dubai, in recognition of his contributions to the business community and humanitarian work for his fellow countrymen. He is a proud alumnus of St. Xavier’s College, Nuwara Eliya.

The Sri Lankan Business Council in Dubai & Northern Emirates has set an important example of excellence and has inspired our bilateral trade and investment initiatives. I am also proud to acknowledge that through your dedication, you have not only united the business community but also facilitated valuable mutual opportunities that promote sustainable bilateral economic growth between Sri Lanka and the UAE. Your innovative approaches and impactful contributions are truly admirable.
I would also like to commend your recent initiative to extend membership to Abu Dhabi-based individuals. As the capital, Abu Dhabi plays a crucial role in our diplomatic and economic relations, and I believe that this expansion will undoubtedly enhance our strategic engagement with this significant region.
As the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the United Arab Emirates, I wish the Sri Lankan Business Council in Dubai & Northern Emirates continued success in all its efforts.
