Mr. Muhammed Riza, Chairman of the Board

Holding an MBA from the University of Strathclyde, Riza is a Senior Management Professional in the Aviation Industry exposed to doing business in Asia, Americas and in Africa. Currently he is the Senior Regional Manager (Commercial) covering the African region for Emirates. He has held the position of the honorary representative for Tourism in the UAE appointed by the Ministry of Tourism in Sri Lanka.

Mr. Ravi Varma - Vice Chairman

Ravi Verma is an Engineer, a MBA Graduate as well as an Entrepreneur. He has offices in Sri Lanka, India, UAE, Canada, Japan and Africa doing business mainly in Sea Ports, Airports and General Industries. He had designed the first Reefer communication module which has Power, Communication and Energy Monitoring in a single unit for the Reefer Industry three in one, as a unique design.He also designed many innovative systems for the port industry over the years such as Robot Eye, Drone technology for Farming and Fencing, Damage Container Detection, Aircraft Body Inspection and Reefer Automation to name a few. He also has a Restaurant in USA and has been in the UAE for the past 19 years.

Ms. Hashini Kannangara, Director – Secretary to the Board

Hashini Kannangara first moved to the UAE in 1994 and is a graduate of the University of Warwick, UK with a BSc (Hons) in Economics. She is currently the General Manager of freight forwarding, travel and trading companies in the UAE.

Ranil De Silva is a Finance Professional currently employed as the Group Head of Corporate Finance & Planning at Metito Group, a global leader and provider of choice for sustainable water management solutions with over 62 years of experience. He is a passionate professional with a passion for teaching, supervising, coordinating, emceeing and hosting high profile VIP events. He holds an MBA from the‘Post Graduate Institute of Management – University of Sri Jayewardenapura (PIM SJP) Sri Lanka.

Dunstan Rozairo, Director – External Affairs

Dunstan Rozairo, is an Engineer by profession, he has been the Managing Director and is responsible for all Development projects by a member of the ruling family in Dubai, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Obaid Thani Al Maktoum’s Private Engineering and Leasing Office since 1985.

Studied at St. Mary’s College Dehiwala; being a committed Marian, the sport boxing always comes foremost to mind when you talk of boys from St. Mary’s and true to his Alma Mater, he has been The First Sri Lankan in Dubai to provide opportunities to amateur Sri Lankans Boxers to join the Professional Boxing League. Rozairo, is an Engineer by profession, he has been the Managing Director and is responsible for all Development projects by a member of the ruling family in Dubai, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Obaid Thani Al Maktoum’s Private Engineering and Leasing Office since 1985.

He is a sensible member of the community and a philanthropist to many fellow Sri Lankans. He is currently the Owner/CEO of JMBC Group of Companies which includes offices based in Dubai and Australia.

Mr. Ram Mohan Pillai, Director – Memberships

Ram is the Managing Director of the Haran Group of companies with business interests in UAE and sub Saharan Africa such as management consulting, FMCG and duty free retail, airport services, immigration to Australia and Canada etc.

Ram was the first in UAE to take a retail franchise of an existing semi governmental service (Du stores) and increase their performance and customer satisfaction levels, winning the Best Franchisee Award before completing the five years contract. Prior to starting his own business, Ram spent nearly 10 years with Vodafone UK where he joined through their Graduate Development Programme and was instrumental during Vodafone’s launch of 3G services.

Ram is an old boy of Jaffna College before emigrating to UK and now settled in Dubai for 11 years with wife and two children.

Mr. Tariq Qureshi, Director – Business Development

Tariq Qureshi who has lived in the UAE for over 40 years, was heading a large Anglo American Company for 25 years, supplying steel for the Offshore Oil & Gas and Marine Industry. For the past 10 years, he now provides an Independent Consultancy Service for an American company specialized in supplies of structural products for Offshore Rigs and Windcarrier Installation Vessels.

Tariq started his primary education at St Thomas College Mount Lavinia and graduated in Business studies from the University of Karachi, where he temporarily settled down before stepping into the UAE.

Kapila Karunaratne is a Senior Banker for over 40 years in Sri Lanka & UAE, A Chartered Marketer with CIM. Specialties being Commercial, Financial Sector – B2B Connectivity, Business Development. He is a Life Member of Institute of Bankers, Life Member of Association of Professional Bankers (APB) Sri Lanka. Alumnus of IIM Ahamedabad, India. He is also a Member, British Business Group, Abu Dhabi, Life Member of Sri Lanka China Society, Member – Lions Clubs International Dubai, Committee Member of St Anthony’s College Kandy Old Boys Association, UAE, Member of Wild Life & Nature Protection Society of Sri Lanka ( WNPS).
